Day Four-...not so fast!

So, Day One didn't exactly go as I'd planned. Inclament weather forced my friends to cancel on me. Given the unraveling of the night I chose to load up the truck and head to local farm pond. Knowing that the fish of my dreams, or maybe nightmares, likely wasn't treading water at this location, I decided to try some patterns that I hope to utilize on some larger impoundments as the Summer drags on.
The night turned out to be a striking success! My girlfriend, Anne, and I ended up catching 19 largemouth bass on one primary point with the same rig using three different styles of soft plastics. The most productive was a black/red fleck Zoom Baby Brush Hog on a 2/0 hook with a 1/4 ounce bullet weight Texas-rigged. It was an overall learning experience that I can't wait to try on some of these Ol' Monster Bluegrass Bass!
Due to my obligations to the U.S. Military I am unable to fish any this weekend. Luckily, I did manage to squeeze in a trip to the local Bass Pro Shops to stock up! That always makes for a good day. :)
I promise that this week will include atleast a few more attempts to tame a GIANT! Until then, My Friends......

Day One- The begining...

Hello, My Name is Jonathan White. I have started this blog to track my goal, my passion. I recently created a "Bucket List". My top goal at this point in my life is to catch a state record fish here in Kentucky where I live! I have caught numerous LARGE fish here in Central Kentucky. My current largest fish is a 63 lb Flathead Catfish out of the Kentucky River. I know that my goal is not something that has a certain completion to it. But, I am determined to give it my all for the next year to see how it goes.
Today the journey starts. After work this evening two of my best friends and I are going fishing for some whopper Largemouth Bass down at Cedar Creek Lake in Lincoln Couny. I have caught 5+ lb bass here in past years and recently heard rumors of bass in the lake being sampled in the mid-teens! The current Kentucky State Record is 13 lb, 10 ozs. That would end the quest right there! I guess we shall see how it goes. Stay tuned. I'm glad you've chosen to follow me on this journey and I look forward to updating this blog as often as possible!
